At first, it was supposed to be a one-shot graphic novel about Crissy Carrots. To fill out the book, I drew up a series of pinup shots of the various characters. When it became known that Cartoon Cuties would be a continuing series, the pinups were held back for use in future issues. After drawing this image of Mala, I saw that she had potential beyond her turn as one of the heavies in that first story. Thus, her reform is a part of issue 2.
